Our mission at Lend A Hand Community Action Network Foundation is to restore dignity and remove barriers to education and services for our vulnerable unhoused community members and underserved students in Tulsa County by providing hygiene bags and winter survival backpacks.
Restoring Dignity Together
According to the National Institute of Health, inability to maintain personal hygiene is the #1 reported obstacle to unhoused people feeling confident enough to seek out and apply for services. In Tulsa, over 200 people per month become unhoused. Tulsa is #11 in the nation for evictions. There are an estimated 1800-2000 students in Tulsa County who are either unhoused or at risk of becoming unhoused. These students face unnecessary absences, bullying and social isolation because they do not have access to personal hygiene items. LendaHandCAN is committed to restoring dignity and removing barriers for our unhoused and underserved.
